Ship of Palm is Sinking
Any techie with intimate knowledge of white knuckle sailing deserves a mention. If you try it and like it, you'll never go back.
PDAs are dead and so will be Palm. When Sony dropped out and I was stuck with my beloved Clie' which won't (and will not) work on XP, I had to stick my head out and figure out a replacement. It turns out that for any clearly defined user group, THERE IS a better solution out there. Ergo, Palm is dead.
The original PDA (phone book and/or calendar) - get a better mobile phone with something like iPhonebook. Syncs with your laptop without cables, never loses memory, and it dials the number for you.
Mobile worker - PocketPC. WinCE is an easy choice for the enterprise.
